Hold it all Together

Some of us grew up never learning how to lean on others. We were taught to be the strong ones—the reliable ones, the ones who “keep it all together.”

So we became the caregivers, the helpers, the ones who never fall apart. Not because we didn’t feel broken, but because we learned early on that showing our pain might make people leave.

Blurred pink heart-shaped bokeh lights overlay a soft-focus indoor setting, creating a warm, romantic ambiance.

As adults, those patterns remain. Even when our hearts ache and our eyes burn with tears, we smile and say, “I’m fine.” We carry everyone else’s burdens while quietly drowning under our own.

And when we finally whisper, “I need help,” shame rushes in. Old fears surface—“If I show need, I’ll be rejected. If I fall apart, I’ll be abandoned.” We label ourselves weak. We panic.

But the truth is, you were never weak. Wanting comfort, closeness, and support is not weakness—it’s the most human part of you. I would like to remind you that our deepest need is for safe, secure connection. Healing begins when we take the risk to reach out, and in that moment, discover we are not “too much.”

Love isn’t something you only give—it’s also something you are meant to receive.

If this feels familiar, therapy can offer you a safe, supportive space to untangle those old patterns and begin to experience connection in new ways. You don’t have to walk this journey by yourself. Call me, text me or email me anytime for an appointment.
